WELLINGTON – Dale Dunlap said he just couldn't stay away from
Collingsworth County and Texas Cooperative Extension.
Dunlap served as the Extension agriculture agent in Collingsworth for
11 years before moving south in 2003 to go into banking. On Aug. 27, he
came back home.
While a native of Sayre, Okla., Dunlap said he considers Wellington to
be home and is glad to be back.
Dunlap started his Extension career in 1989 in Tom Green County. He
served in Collingsworth County from 1992 to 2003, then returned to
Extension last year as the agriculture agent in Eastland County.
"I've come back home now," he said. "I missed the people – first – and
then the diversity and progressiveness of the agriculture producers."
Dunlap said he hopes to continue working to diversify agriculture, as
well as work with the 4-H and youth program and help keep production
agriculture viable in Collingsworth County.
"The Panhandle District and North Region are fortunate to have Dale
rejoining us as the Collingsworth agent," said Donna Brauchi, Extension
district administrator. "His leadership, agriculture expertise and youth
development interest will enable him to effectively provide quality
Extension education to meet the clientele needs."
