COLLEGE STATION -- Almost 80 top biochemists will gather here Saturday to share the latest research findings at the Eighth Annual Southwest Macromolecular Symposium.
The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 5:20 p.m. in the Biochemistry Building, Room 108.
In addition to discussing research, the group will consider sharing other "tools of the trade" as well, according to symposium organizer Dr. Edgar Meyer of College Station, a biochemist for the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station.
"We are in the organizational stages of joining forces with others to make it possible for us to share new equipment," Meyer said. "Participants at the symposium will hear a presentation from Louisiana State University about that new instrument and the generous, good neighborly gesture to share it. That is a major boost for the researchers across the Southwest."
More information about the meeting is available from Meyer at (979) 845-1744 or meyer@bioch.tamu.edu.
