March Senior Nutrition Workshop Will Help ‘Feed’ Professional Development

SAN ANTONIO – A workshop on seniors' nutrition issues will take place March 1 at the Sheraton Gunter Hotel, 205 E. Houston Street, here.

The workshop, which runs from 8 a.m. to noon, is designed for health, nutrition and wellness professionals who assist older adults, said Dr. Connie Sheppard, a workshop coordinator.

Continuing education units will be offered in social work and dietician categories.

"The workshop will focus on issues such as how nutrition affects memory, plus address research results on how to improve the well-being of seniors," said Shepard, Texas Cooperative Extension agent for family and consumer sciences in Bexar County.

Registration is free, but space is limited. The registration deadline is Feb. 20.
