CANADIAN – Whitney Kizziar will become the family and consumer sciences agent with Texas Cooperative Extension in Hemphill County, effective Aug. 2.

The appointment was announced by Donna Brauchi, district Extension administrator in the Panhandle, in cooperation with the Hemphill County Commissioners Court.

Kizziar is from Dalhart. She earned a bachelor of science degree in human development and family studies from Texas Tech University at Lubbock in May. She worked with the Communities in Schools on the South Plains as a youth coordinator volunteer.

Kizziar worked with students in the tutoring program at Atkins Junior High School in Lubbock. She also assisted teachers and counselors in student behavioral and academic assessments.

"We are pleased to welcome Whitney into the Extension organization," said Brauchi. "Her enthusiasm and interest in working with people of all ages will be a valuable addition to the Extension team as they serve Hemphill County families and youth."
