FLOODS ARE MORE THAN JUST WATER OVER THE BRIDGE  Print Story
COLLEGE STATION - Texas has been know to have its share of floods. According to information from National Flood Insurance Program (http://www.fema.gov/nfip/sign1000.shtm ), flooding occurs on a fairly regular basis in the Lone Star State. Floods that resulted in 1,500 or more paid losses happened in 1979, 1981, 1989, 1992, 1994, 1998 and 2002 - sometimes twice in one year.
