Agricultural Program overview

Welcome to The Texas A&M University System Agriculture Program, one of the premier agriculture programs in the world. The Agriculture Program is an organization of statewide agricultural agencies, divisions and colleges of agriculture, life sciences, natural resources, human sciences and veterinary medicine within The Texas A&M University System. The personnel of these agencies and universities work collectively to improve the quality of life in Texas and beyond its borders through teaching, research, extension and service.

Members of the Agriculture Program also collaborate with land-grant and other universities nationally and internationally; federal, state and county governments and agencies; and public- and private-sector businesses, industries, foundations and organizations. Our MISSION is to serve the citizens of Texas, the nation, and the world through education, research and service which creates vital economic, environmental and societal benefits.

Our VISION is to be the premier Agriculture Program, as viewed by our peers, and more importantly, as viewed by those we serve.

We serve students; food and fiber producers; processors and distributors; goods and service suppliers; rural citizens and communities; urban citizens; consumers of food, fiber and horticultural products; state and federal agencies; public policy makers; and stewards of natural resources and the environment. The Agriculture Program has established the following

Our goals: Strengthen our land-grant mission. Increase investment in the human potential of our faculty and staff. Further scholarship through curricula, discovery, problem-solving and leadership development. Expand the creation and adoption of knowledge. Ensure that all Texans have access to life-long learning. Increase Agriculture Program financial resources and economic security.
